| 内容記述 | Since their establishment in 1976, senmon gakko (polytechnic colleges) have met society's needs through various practical and technical courses. Approximately one third of high school graduates seeking tertiary education enrol in senmon gakko. Many information management technicians are senmon gakko graduates. These people will form the basis of Japan's future information society. Given these facts, the Ministry of Education has amended the 1991 University Standards of Establishment to include these specialized schools (specialized courses) alongside universities and two?year colleges. This raising of standards will show senmon gakko in a new light, and allow them to become one of the principle paths to tertiary education in Japan. |
