| 内容記述 | Japan and the United States launched new cultural and educational policies toward China in the 1920’s. In spite of her desire to establish better mutual understanding with China based on a notion of “Same culture, same race,” Japan’s cultural work were criticized by Chinese as “cultural invasion.” But the United States, which started cultural project almost at the same time, succeeded in promoting cultural and educational cooperation with China. This paper tries to explore reasons of Japan’s failure and American success by closely examining political and cultural thoughts and visions held by both nationals. |
