| 内容記述 | In this paper, the influence of “The Murray-Singapore invasion operation” in the literature field will be discussed from multiple perspectives. First of all, I focused on reportage and articles by journalists and soldiers, not literary novels that were released after the fall of Singapore. They were highly praised in general although the evaluation was made from a perspective different from the artistic point of view. During such a period, “Discourse of Murray Strategy Chief Staff ”, which was written by the military man, was released and the writing became a big topic. Secondly, just before the Asia-Pacific war started, the literary people sent to various parts of Asia focused on reportage and novels, which they wrote locally or after returning home. Regarding the reportage and novels, those written from the standpoint closer to that of journalists and soldiers than literary scholars’ were more appreciated. At the same time, a lively discussion in which it was unreasonable for literary people to write reportage unfolded. Lastly, as the third, I examined what kind of tasks a literary person was subjected to in such a literary field of Showa 17 (in 1942). It was required for literary people to face a new motif and to take much time so as to make it a problem of theirs. |
