| 内容記述 | This study deals with the concept of the transcendent function as conceived by C.G. Jung (1916). The author focuses on Jung’s detailed descriptions of this concept and his related personal experiences. Jung devised the "transcendent function" in order to manage the depressed state and the neurosis. First, he clarified the contents of the unconscious. Specifically, he described "writing down fantasies," "drawing several pictures," "drastically introverting the libido," and paying attention to "specifics and anxiety." Second, Jung pointed out to the confrontation of opposites. In this stage, he wrote of two directions: "shaping form" and "understanding meaning." He described how to reveal the contents of the unconscious. In the third stage, the ego must confront the unconscious. Revealing the contents of the unconscious seriously is imperative. The transcendent function then leads to a change in personality. Jung mentioned psychic reality and the path to self-liberation. In conclusion, the author discusses the contemporary meaning of the transcendent function, such as a reference framework for several forms of psychotherapy, a method of authentic self-determination, and the importance of returning to Jung. |
