| 内容記述 | The Course of Study in high schools has been implemented in 2022, and lessons of the new subject ‘The Public Sphere’ have started. A previous study examined the meaning of ‘Public Nature’ in the new subject last year, and results indicated that its meaning has changed from ‘official’ to ‘common’ and ‘open.’ Building on that work, the current study examined the reasons and backgrounds of those changes by focusing on the deliberations of the Central Council of Education. Results revealed that many members of the Central Council of Education viewed the subject of ‘the Public Sphere’ as a foundation for moral education and career education in high school. In addition, amendment of the Public Offices Election Act influenced the deliberations of the Central Council of Education. This is why the meaning of ‘Public Nature’ in the new subject ‘The Public Sphere’ has changed from ‘official’ to ‘common’ and ‘open.’ | |||||||||||||
