| 内容記述 | The aim of this paper is to describe the function of dakara. It was pointed out that Dakara is a logical connective. But dakara has a wider range of use. Therefore, its function cannot be explained by the logical connection. Dakara is a Japanese discourse connective. This paper claims the following points. (1) Dakara is not used between two statements. Dakara as a discourse connective is on the statement following dakara. (2) When an assumption P is produced in a speaker's cognitive environment, a context C appears from the same speaker's assumptions. Then a set of assumptions P contextually implies an assumption Q in a context C. In the situation the speaker begins with dakara. (3) The function of dakara is to confer that Q is produced by a contextual implication on utterance Q. |
