| 内容記述 | Individuals with vulnerable aspects of their personality are likely to develop depression. Previous studies have found multiple predictors of the recurrence of depression in patients with a major depressive disorder. These include being female, having experienced prior episodes, and having a personality disorder or comorbid psychopathology. Several studies with subjects sampled from the general population have demonstrated that high scores in Harm-Avoidance (HA) and low scores in Self-Directedness (SD), as measured by the Temperament and character Inventory (TCI), predicted greater depression at a later point. A recent study in patients with major depression has indicated that only SD scores, and not HA scores, had the ability to predict the recurrence of depression. SD is known to play some psychological role in preventing a person from suffering depression and HA is known to indicate emotional vulnerability to depression. The present study examined why patients with a major depressive disorder who had low scores in SD are more likely to develop depression and why their HA scores are not associated with the recurrence of depression. | |||||||||||||
