| 内容記述 | Although the terminology of "Internationalization" in Japanese society has not been exactly defined, it seems that the word is regarded as the national goal of both Japan and the Japanese in the modern era. This paper examines the definition, activities and perception with a broad range of case study of the above topic. The context is divided into seven chapters as follows:Introdution, 1 Boom in Internationalization, 2 Westernalization vs "Japanization,"3 Conditions of Internationalists, 4 Internationalization in the field of education, 5 Japanese role as the International state, and Conclusion. A progressive outcome of this study implies that a variety of program for internationalization of Japan has been undertaken mainly in the sectors of introducing foreign knowledge and technologies to Japan as well as exporting Japanese goods as a pattern of one way communication. Therefore, we have to make more possitive effort to introduce the output of Japan to foreign countries to eliminate negative image of Japan's "inward-looking and closed society". |
