| 内容記述 | This paper examines the concept of ciphers by K. Jaspers and proceeds to make a critical comparison with ciphers in Zen Buddhism and Upanisad. First, an analysis is made of the relationship between Zen experience and its verbalization in reference to the immediate Language in the three categories of ciphers; namely, the Immediate Language (First Language), the Second Language and the Third Language. Second, in connection with the "Philosophical Faith and Revelation", an elaborate thought developed by Jaspers in his later years, an inquiry is made into its implications in terms of history of thought, followed by assessments of various forms of religious ciphers in the light of Jaspers' philosophy. |
