| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study was to measure and analyze the images which students have of the educational environment at Shonan Campus of Bunkyo University. This study was conducted using following surveys. \nSurvey I The purpose of Survey I was to construct a scale most appropriate for evaluating the university educational atmosphere from the viewpoints of both "physical" and "behavioral" environments. A set of questionnaires, consisting of 20 items with 7-point semantic differential(SD) scales for each of 12 images of campus facilities and activities, was distributed to 93 students. Factor-analysis was conducted using the centroid method followed by varimax rotation. It was concluded that 14 items should be used for the diagnostic evaluation of the educational environment. \nSurvey II Using the scale developed in Survey I , Surevey II was conducted to analyze the cognitive components of the "physical" environments. A set of questionnaires, consisting of 14 items with 5-point SD scales for each of 12 images of campus facilities, was distributed to 276 students. Factor-analysis was conducted using the centroid method followed by varimax rotation. Four factors were extracted from those 12 items in the SD scale. They were named "Evaluative", "Activity", "Mental Status" and "Potency". Weighted scores in the 4 factorial dimensions were calculated for each stimulus word, and then factorial analyses (Q-typing technique) were conducted. \n 大学キャンパスの教育環境を評価する場合,教職員の視点から評価するだけでは不十分である。なぜなら,大学構成員のうち,キャンパスの中で最も多様に活動しているのは学生だからである。すなわち,学生たちは,正課の授業だけでなく,課外のプログラムや自主的な勉強会,クラブ・サークル活動,そして個人的な学習など,さまざまな機会と施設を利用して,学習や人格面での成長を遂げているのである。したがって,学生が個々の建造物や教育プログラム,諸活動などにどのようなイメージを抱いているのかを検討し,その結果を大学教育計画に反映させることは重要である。 文教大学では,学生生活と学習の実態や意識に関する調査は,保健センターが保健・生活調査(1981年～1992年,保健センター年報創刊号～13号)として実施してきたし,最近では学生意識調査委員会による調査(1995)がある。教員個人や共同による調査研究としては,大学の授業に関する調査(小林ほか,1993;川上ほか,1993)や国際学部学園生活調査(小林ほか,1994),保健体育に関する意識調査(小林ほか,1993)などがある。 しかし,これらの調査では,キャンパスの物理的環境に関しては検討されていない。調査内容の中心は,学生の生活実態とその意識にあるからである。ところが,現実に学生が学園生活改善の要望として提出する事項は,教育プログラムの充実と改善に関することよりもキャンパス・アメニティの改善に関することが多い。例えば,学友会は大学に対して,学生食堂や運動施設,バス・ターミナルの屋根などの拡充や改善を要望してきた。 原とそのグループは,大学キャンパスの教育環境を評価する上で,学生と教職員との問の知的・感情的交流によって醸し出される雰囲気を多角的に検討することが肝要であると指摘した(原ほか,1969)。そして大学キャンパスがもつ二つの重要な側面,すなわち物理的環境(建造物や場所)と行動的環境(教育プログラムやその他の諸活動)に着目し,その両側面を学生がどのように認知しているのかについて検討している(原,1975,1979;原ほか,1980;大井ほか,1990;川戸ほか,1990)。 本研究では,国際基督教大学で行われた原らの研究を参考にして,本学学生が湘南キャンパスの教育環境をどのように認知しているのかを検討する。 |
