| 内容記述 | A joint survey was conducted based on existing written records and a questionnaire. The survey focussed on the current state of academic and personal counseling and instruction of students in their freshman year at university. The results indicated the following trends: 1. Almost all universities have a tutoring system and most see it as being effective. 2. Many universities expect that the importance of these activities will increase as a result of the Ministry of Education's revision of standards for the establishment of universities and their curriculums (made in July 1991). But there are some problems, including a shortage of qualified personnel which makes it difficult to cope with the diverse needs of students. 3. The three topics to be studied in the future are as follows: a) The development of career counselling programs for senior high schools and universities. b) T he increasing importance of student personnel services today because more students have not developed a sufficiently mature attitude toward study, and a l so lack social skills. c) Students' needs, school facilities, personnel and various other basic details of school activities, to be researched by means of another, larger survey. 4. So far as foreign students are concerned, almost all universities have a special system or organization like an "International Student Center" or "Section for Foreign Students". Though this is still not enough, they are making efforts to help the foreigners in many aspects : academic works, scholarships, housing problems and so forth. |
