| 内容記述 | Japanese airline industry after World War Ⅱ had been under government control for about half a century when domestic market was deregulated on 2000. However, due to the lack of slots at Haneda airport, newcomers could not fully enjoy the deregulation and the fare competition among airlines never took place drastically. Since March this year, three Japanese LCCs started their operations one after another and it looks like they are having a great impact upon the Japanese sky. The history of LCCs goes back to 1970’s. And especially in these 20years LCCs made a distinguished progress all over the world but Japan. In this report, history of Japanese government policy on this industry is reviewed, and the market situation both in Japan and adjacent countries is scrutinized to try to answer the following two questions. Why is it this late, the era of LCC finally began in Japan? How much and what kind of impact do they make on Japanese transportation industry? |
