内容記述 | This paper is the report on the actual condition of Faculty Development of physical education teachers in Japanese college and universities. The purpose of this research was to obtain the fundamental data for building a systematic FD program for college physical education. The object of the investigation was universities and junior colleges of middle or large size in Japan. There were 472 universities and 98 junior colleges. The period of the investigation was from March to May of 2013. The questionnaires were mailed and the replies were received by mailing or e-mail. There were 274 replies. There were 119 professors (43.4%) and there were 103 associate professors (37.6%). The questionnaire had 25 questions concerning the followings; i) A teacher’s duties and ethics ii) The educational concept and environment of college iii) Syllabus and teaching methods iv) Faculty Development The replies for one respondent is settled in the range of 25 to 100. The average number of answers was 81.1. The higher the respondent's status was, the higher the total number replies was. The characteristic points are the following three points. (1) There are not so many people who have an image of future career development. (2) There are not so many people who wrote papers on college physical education. (3) There are not so many people who are members of academic societies on university education. |
