| 内容記述 | This report is based on two experiences of the author and his reflections on how resident foreigners need to be encouraged to participate more in Japanese society as equals and not as perpetual foreigners who need only to receive public services. Multiculturalism is about contribution, not about dependency. By critical reflections of the "Domestic Multiculturalism in Koshigaya" and the "Hogaku and Minyo Across the Ocean" events, the author lays out in six sections how Bunkyo University, through the creation of a Faculty of Foreign Languages in 2017, is attempting to address cultural biases surrounding Japanese traditional culture. The 2016 Hogaku and Minyo event exemplifies the kind of experiential learning between Japanese and foreigners Bunkyo University wishes to support in the future and how multicultural symbiosis （tabunka kyosei） at the local level should take place. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
